Northern Scandinavia Map v0.99.2
By Northern Scandinavia Map is a new standalone map for Euro Truck Simulator 2 but it is still in progress.
In this beta version, there are some cities: Bodø, Saltstraumen, Tverlandet, Fauske, Å i Lofoten and Moskenes. There will be 50 cities once it’s completed.
Well even though this map is not yet complete. It is a really nicely put together map.
I will admit that there is a long way to go on this map, I think it will be a nice addition to the game when it is finely complete.
When I drove my first quick job, I found out very quickly that this map is on a scale of 1 to 1. By this I mean, 1 hour of game time equal’s 1 hour of real time.
So if you want to try this map, you better be ready to sit in your chair for a minimum of 5 minutes to an hour, depending on the trip you take.
I did see a few minor problems. There was a couple of texture problems, and some scenery loading problems.
I found that in most places the scenery was taking a little longer to load then it should have, or it was not very smooth.
But after all, this is a test map, and for being a test map. This is really nicely done.

- New 4-lane road opened.

How to install this map for ETS 2:
- Download this mod.
- Extract it!
- Paste the .scs file(s) into your My Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod folder.
- Run game ~> Create new profile ~> Enable mod.

o editor deveria fazer esse mapa para ser compativel com outros mapas e não standalone , isso tornaria o jogo mais atrativo , e interessante , pos daria mais opçoes de viagens sem ter que mudar perfil( TSM,RUSMAP, EAA, RO ADD, e outros etc….)

This map feel`s like it`s 1 to 1. 1 Hour of game time = 1 hour of real time. Did any one else notice this?

Some nice long drives in this map. Big scale & big towns. It’s a beta so still needs lots of work, but worth checking out.
A nice looking map in places with lots of potential. One serious bug right now is just after driving down the slip road, pictured in photo 4 above. You fall through the road at the point where the textures change. I got around it by using the rescue option to place me at the nearest service garage which was just after this problem area. The city of Bodoe also had a road that caused the game to crash to desktop.
I’m sure the map authors will be aware of these issues and put them right in future updates.

New version officially released of the standalone ETS2 map Northern Scandinavia
Installation:
– The installation is very simple. If you have my map mod already, replace all the new three files with the existing ones.
– Make sure you set the game module on “Test1.mdb”, not “europe.mdb”, or
the game will just crash, because this is a standalone map which is
replacing the original map.
Bugs fixed that are discovered in v0.981:
– Invisible wall at gas station near intersection to Stille Dal/Alstad
– Truck dealer at Fauske fixed
– Blockade at intersection near the harbour in Bodø.
Bugs that are not fixed:
– Location of the map
– Correct value while passing toll stations
– Rain in some tunnels
Compatibility:
– v1.17
New features in v0.98.5:
– More construction sites along the Rv80 road. Some scenery added outside Bodø, lamp posts etc…
– The new 4-lane Rv80 road between Vikan and Hunstad will be opened in v1.0
– Mostly all country roads changed to traditional Norwegian roads with yellow road stripes than white ones.
– Tunnel models for some tunnels changed to the DLC Scandinavia tunnels
– Added DLC Scandinavia toll stations
– City limit signs changed to Norwegian ones
– Map overlay sign added(E6)

Works instability in this latest version of the map. Had some ETS2 crashes, but anyways gotta make my review in a couple of days.
Didn’t work for me at all. Unpacked, enabled … nothing added to the map. Running latest 1.17 with Scandinavia DLC.

No, you don’t need to have the DLC to use this map!
Will it work *with* the DLC?
Now for my short review.
Overall this is a great map. Real life driving, and a scale of 1:1, hope you won’t get board in driving it. Every city has been detailed in the way through, with new modules and stuffs in it. There aren’t many stuffs to show much more of this map, but I can see some changes in tollway booths, and some road types. Nothing to tackle much more still a good map.
There are some parts of this map that had crashes and instabilities, hope they could fix that.
Though this is still not the final release of this map, and it’s still in beta. I would give the map a wonderful effort in creating this map mod.

Great idea,i hope the author of this mod in the next version for v1.18 makes this mod a add on only,not a stand alone map please.No offense but i am not a fan of stand alone maps,I like add on maps to make the world map bigger.

You don’t need to create new profile in order to use this map but it doesn’t support 1.19!

Looks nice, I like maps that have single lane roads, it’s more fun then just driving down a highway all the time. will it be compatible with promods and rusmaps etc?

The answer to your question lies in the changelog. To make it short: No! The map is in 1:1 scale and not standard 1:19 so it will never be compatible with other maps. Read the changelog without asking. I have added answers to the common questions in the changelog so I recommend everyone to read that before asking something.

The new version is only for 1.23
Of what’s new in this version you have to see it yourself. The info here are very outdated. So are the pictures. Uploader on this website are just too slow to update the information.
Maybe they will make one for v1.24.xx.
