The Kraz 260 is an other Russian work horse truck.
You get 1 Cab, 2 Chassis style’s, 3 engine’s, 2 transmissions, Several light and bull bar options. You also get 3 other cargo options besides the option of pulling a trailer.
Although I do not believe you will find any cargo for the other 3.
There are also so interior options, like Nav system and a computer to check your trucks systems. Fuel, Air, and fuel used.
I am guessing that this truck is the big sister to the Kraz 255 that I tested. This is also a very stable truck mod, BUT I did find that the sound of the engine was overly loud or distorted in some way.
I am not sure if it was meant to be this way or not. If this was by design? then I think the mod builder should do a rethink on that part.
Other then the engine sound, this is a very nice truck. I will recommend this truck to any one that want to try it.
You can find it in every Volvo dealer.

I love this truck!
I would have done powerful engines and gearbox for this truck Kraz260, but it is there in the password file.
That should be no problem when you make your own mod and place it below this one. Unless of course you can’t see the names.
I need to know certain file names, so that my mod then followed up on yours. If that does not follow, then it may not to work.
I just downloaded teh truck and had a look, so I can confirm the files to be open. So go ahead, do it.
Thank you Johannes Konig.
Slight errror on my part, I’m sorry, I just mixed up two russian trucks: You are correct; you can see the transmissions, but you can’t open their files. Which is a shame, because I’d liked to denoise some of the soundfiles a little, as they obviously have been recorded by an overstressed mic.
I am already made powerful engines and transmissions for different trucks, but for yours, I can not do this because I need to know some information from the file, to put it on your truck that could be done.
Thank you Johannes Konig.
I am aware of that. As I said, there’s no legal way to do it in this case. I know what is involved, for I make mods, too.
I will not deal with your mods is plenty of other modes truck from which it can be done.
Thank you Johannes Konig.
I have a feeling there is some kind of misunderstanding. I guess you use a translator. What language do you speak, if I may ask?
You’re right, I do it through Google Translator, I do not know much English, I speak Czech. Therefore, perhaps it comes as a misunderstanding. I’m so sorry for that.
It’s a beast!!!
Yes , nice truck besides the engine sound which is very horrible
Technically, some sounds have overdriven the mic while recording took place. If the files were not closed, I could have filtered the distortions out.
If you find the sound in itself horrible however, well, you might find the real thing horrible too. So that would make it a good soundset actually. In the past, russians cared for power, functionality, endurance and ease of repair more than about noise reduction, if at all.
When the former East German democratic republic recieved their “Taiga Drum” heavy locomotives from Russia, first thing the “Easties” did was to install noise reduction equipment, and still this venerable loco makes a hell of a noise 🙂
I also witnessed the arrival of a Tupolev Tu 154 in Frankfurt airport recently shortly before an A380 arrived. The difference is like day and night, and already caused some airports to ban planes with these engines (Austria, as far as I know).
It’s not really about the noise , but about the sound itself. It sound like a very-rusty engine and really brokes my ear.
Tupolev : Lol , even aeroflot’s ruskies use Airbus instead because of the noise
Yes, I know, in fact many of them these days.
I made a funny observation with this truck: If you can manage to hold rpm between green and yellow while you creep through russian deep snow, the sound changes and becomes extremely realistic: It seems the file behind it is actually several seconds long, so that high pitch scream drifts into the background, and what you hear then very much sounds like a 1980-1985 Mercedes 320+ PS engine in high rpm. Also, if you really get the needle to max and hold it there, this CAN sound very real. However, even I turn the volume down after a while 🙂
Gonna try , but for now i’m still stuck in Ukraine with a shitlly Maz with un-readable gauges and low end motor …
The problem with those russian truck , 90% of them use Volvo dealership , so you cannot have more than 3-4 at the same time ..
i’d like the 6-7 Russian truck in the same time but … doesn’t works , some are unavaible because they overdraw others ..
Hehe, yeah, I know what you mean!
And hey, I just finished my “coast” to coast ride from Lviv all the way over the map. I took the next plane to Lviv, where there is still my trusty Kenworth T800 with it’s pleasant sound, with other cars on the road and no snow at all. My KrA3 stayes behind in Anadir, and my KamA3 6480 in Novosibirsk. I need to make some quicker money now, and I need some “normal” street driving too after all that ice and snow. Eheey oooochniem! 🙂
Usè drivèr in normal roads likè in Ukrainè , it actually do works and èarn rèasonnablè Monèy
I still not rèachèd icy road , i’m nèar Crimèa ..
Btw , i find this totally stupid that thè only UA-RU bordèr is nèa crimèa and that thèrè is no road on thè wholè rèst of thè bordèr. (Likè thè fact Moscow and majors city in this arèa missing..)
Well, if you keep on heading east, there’s only one road that connects the eastern part with the western part of the map, so you will have your first encounter with snow between Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk. There’s a pretty hard test you have to master to make it to Krasnoyarsk though. It can be done. I did with a 24t Caterpillar excavator on my back, so keep thinking and trying, and SHIFT MANUALLY na russkaja doroga, russkaja doroga, russkaya doroga…!
Indeed, I found the missing of Moskwa very strange, too.
Still a long way to go ..
A picknick compared to what you will face in the north, because there you will see what a loooong way really is. Average speed of 60 km/h? For-get-it! You gonna creep with 10 to 15, and often even slower. And when you really hit the 30 km/h, it will feel like waaay too fast, apart from the fact that you will always feel like in a bottle with the inscription: Shake well before use….. hehehe…
U mad ? I was up to kerch and i was stranded there because no more deliverys forward , only trailers making me drive in the wrong direction.
Well, hehehe, that’s life. So I must have passed you, because I delivered to Kerch yesterday. I was luckier than you, heading for Ekaterinburg right now. Ummm how come you think I was mad?
