Bridge from Calais to Dover v6.4
By What this mod does, is it adds a bridge from Calais France to Dover England with a small island in between.
I get the point of this mod, but I have to question why? Why do this, unless you want to save money on ferry charges or to say that you built this.
I drove from Calais to Plymouth England, I found that the road work was done nicely, but some of the line’s on the road’s did not line up.
I also found that the transition from driving on the right to driving on the left was not done very good. The way it stands now, you will have to drive around Dover to be able to switch to the left side of the road.
I really think that this needs to be looked at. I also found that there is a major bump in the road leaving Dover, I feel that this also needs to be looked at.
I am going to reserve judgement on this mod. So I am not going to recommend this mod at this time.
But if you want to try it, then I recommend caution.

- Extract it!
- Paste the .scs file(s) into your My Documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/mod folder.

No more paying for the ferry!!

If you’re a bit of a cheapskate and doesn’t want to pay for the ferry, you can use this mod. Not to mention crossing a huge body of water never gets old.
However, there’re a couple of things about it:
– There isn’t a smooth transition when you enter and leave Dover. It just abruptely changes from LHD to RHD right before the roundabout, and the NPC vehicles simply disappear as well.
– There’s a 30 KPH speed-limit near the small island on the bridge, but it stays like this for a good portion of it, even when the speed limit clearly is different.
If those things can be fixed, it’ll become quite a small interesting mod.
There is no reduction in the total time remaining of the trip.
Overall I found very interesting. Continue improving. Congratulations for the work.

I’ve had occasion—pulling an extra long trailer with a long-frame truck—that sort of hooped ETS 2 when the Chunnel train arrived at the other end. I found my rig on its side with the truck pointing to the sky. ETS 2 could not spot the rig on the train because of its length. LOL On another occasion, the rig was on the train car but was pinned into the next railcar so hard I couldn’t drive away. This mod would be the way around those situations. I usually opt for the ferry if I think there could be a train issue.

Despite the change of the right hand left not be good, it’s a good job. However, I see no sense to make a bridge linking France and England, as this does not exist in real life. It would be much better and interesting if the creator of this mod reproduce the tunnel under the English Channel.
