Mercedes-Benz Antos 1840 Car Carrier

This pack contains the Mercedes-Benz Antos 1840 Car Carrier truck and the standalone Auto Trailer.

This car transporter is simply a bit of fun. It looks great with detailed modelling all round and it’s nice to see the three pointed star making an appearance on the grill. The finish on the paintwork is also to a good standard. You may or may not like the scorpion hanging from the middle of the windscreen but it makes a change from fluffy dice I suppose. It’s a bit short on accessories though. You can choose sideskirts but no options for placing extra lights anywhere which is a shame but no great loss. The most powerful engine available is the 598hp. It’s adequate but if you’re used to the bigger engines of Scania or Volvo the difference might become painful while pulling the 22t load up steep hills.
The mod comes in two parts, one for the truck and one for the trailer. You must enable both of them for it to work as intended. You will find the truck in Majestic dealerships across continental Europe but not in the UK due to its left hand drive configuration. While making the purchase you will notice the truck already has vehicles attached. It is then a case of finding the matching trailer. If you’ve just loaded your save game after applying the mod be sure to rest up so the trailer has time to appear in the freight market. I found them at many different locations so pairing them up wasn’t a problem.
Other trailers do not work with this Mercedes as the coupling mechanism is in a much lower position. Besides, taking a trailer not intended for this truck would look very odd indeed. So this is very much a stand alone truck/trailer combination that needs both parts to function.
I enjoyed driving this transporter on a one off journey and I’d definitely recommend it if you fancy something different. Just don’t plan on using it very often as getting the two to meet up in the course of natural gameplay will rarely happen.
