it is crashing in my game. I have TSM 5.4 mod, and i think one more truck mod.
I got the same version and it turns out fine, but listen:
Does it crash right after you made your order and handed over the cash? If so, it’s a memory problem. So do the following:
Load your game, then go staright away to the dealers, use the arrow to jump from 1 BACK to 8 right away, state your specifications, pay, and you should have it. Then save, exit the game and reload. Don’t do anything else before you go to the dealer. If you did something prior, save the game, quit and restart to wipe the memory clean. I am very low on memory and it works on my end.
If that’s not it, you can still try on another map (preferably a standard map profile for test purposes) and see if that works. Watch your game log after a crash. When it either broke off in midgame, or states that it cannot allocate some memory, then it is your memory, not the truck. You find these decisive clues at the very end of the file.
Cant find it ingame
Are you using other truck mods?
Nope
It should be number 8 at Volvo’s. That’s where it shows up on my end. So if that place is not already taken by another truck you installed, then… it may sound silly, but have you dubblechecked you really activated this mod?
Correction: It appears that the truck will not always appear as number eight. I just had it as number three.
“Don`t ask me, because I don’t know, why, but
It’s like that
It’s just the way it is.
Huuaaa!”
This is the perfect truck to explore Goba’s Trucker’s Map.
It comes with two chassis, of which the second is all wheel drive and has a lot more ground clearance. You can even get mod or snowtyres for it. Your fuel capacity increses from 2200l to 5200l, dimensions you usually find in an american locomotive for Montana pulling long distance freight trains up and down the Rocky Mountains.
The (realistic) downsides:
As the truck is lifted up, so is the center of gravity. To be of any use in rough russian outback terrain, it also has a softer suspention. That means, forget about buzzing by with 100 km/h on highways. At 75 aleady, you are at the very edge of flipping your truck and trailer in some of the highway corners.
And there’s another problem: Your ride hight is actually higher than most of the trailers. How you gonna solve that problem? Hey, you’re in Russia, man! When in Rome…. you gotta solve it rrussian style of course: Crank in your reverse snail gear, back up until you more or less tenderly touch the trailer and than mash the pedal until the trailor gives up its resistance.
The standard truck comes in a realistically simple fashion inside and out, but can be very much personalized and equipped with state of the art technology. Engine options go up to 450hp.
The sound… well, it is a very simple soundset from a modder’s piont of view, and blending between soundfiles could be enhanced. But then it is infact the real sound, if not the sound of a very similar engine type. So let’s say, though it is not state of the art, it still provides some realism.
Issues:
It may happen that your simulation crashes while you are at the dealer’s. If so, it is your computer’s way off telling you that he’s quite upset about how memory is handeled. Don’t worry: Before you buy that truck, save your sim, shut it down, restart it and then go straight away to the Volvo dealer of your trust, state your intent, make your order, hand over those Rubels (They don’t accept Visa. I tried!) and then save your sim again, shut it down and fire it up again. Afterwards, there should no framerate issues arise when you drive this truck.
Now for those who like to know what they actually plant their behind on:
“KAMAZ (Камский автомобильный завод – КАМАЗ / Kamskiy avtomobilny zavod – translated: Kama Automobile Plant) is a Russian truck manufacturer located in Nabereszhnye Chelny, Tatarstan, Russian Federation.
KAMAZ opened its doors in 1976. Today, heavy duty models are exported
to many areas of the world including Eastern Europe, Latin America,
China, the Middle East, and North Africa. The trucks have won the Dakar Rallye a record thirteen times. [!!!!!]
KAMAZ is the largest truck producer in Russia and the CIS. The factory produces 93,600 trucks a year (260 trucks a day). Reinforced KAMAZ trucks are used by the Russian Army.”

I have driven this truck for a while, and today, my game crashed, with this note in gam log file. Does this have to do something with the truck, or with my computer beeing to slow or what?
The first one in the list appears in my gamelog, too, before the savegame loaded. I don’t understand it either; I can see no ill effect in the simulation other than I have to do a fresh start of the simulation prior to purchasing this truck, otherwise it’ll crash, if not while customizing it, then when I hit the buy botton.
The other two messages however are alien to me. I am currently riding this truck, so far in several configurations. On changing the tyres to mud tyres initially, I will get a strange message in the log, too I’ve logged something between 8 and 10 000 km with this truck so far, and all I can say is that it runs smoothly and perfectly fits the task, if low/deep snow, ice, or mud.
