Rantkel HD Graphics v3.0 + Review
This is a nice mod, this will bring your graphic’s up to HD quality. I found that this mod sharpened my picture a lot more then I had expected.
The colors with this mod are a lot brighter. I did drive through a storm on an other profile, and I found the rain had changed to a much harder rain fall then I expected.
With the rain that came down, it was much more realistic then what we have now in game. Thats a plus for a lot of us.
The sun rise and sun set’s are very nice to look at, and driving at night is real nice as well. You can see star’s clearer and you can see the moon a lot clearer.
I did find that after a few hours of playing with this mod, I had to do a reboot to my system. So I am guessing that this mod is a bit of a FPS hog.
Plus since I am on a 32 BIT system, then that is what is going to happen on my end. Any one with a stronger computer or a 64 BIT system should have a great time with this mod.
Rantkel HD Graphics will:
- Add winter mod for some special cities.
- Improve your weather.
- Add more details in game.
- Realistic rain.
- More

I predict that this is gonna be one of the most downloaded an best rated ETS2 files ever! The guy who put it together can only bre described as a wizzard. And as a madman to make this freeware….
You know, if you are old enough, you probably listened to the radio, when they informed you that Pearl Harbour was attacked. Right after that, there was a commercial about a brand new computer, remember? That’s the one I own. So except for screenshots fot World of Trucks, I use to turn grass and shadows off and have my traffic limited to 15 uinits max. Until this day, I used a fine graphics package which is now obsolete.
When I activated this package, I was navigating a default Volvo 2012 with standard interour through the Ruhr Area in Germany (TSM+RussMap) at dawn. I stress again, shadows turned off.
This interiour, as you may recall, features dark and bright surfaces made from several different materials, plastic, cloth and artificial leather.
What this package does to just about everything is amazing, but for the first time, this standard Volvo interiour looked breathtakingly real. Not only does the alternating outside light reflect on the surfaces and creates mild shadows (with shadows turned off, yeheees!) , they just look stunningly real. – After a nap, it was about 4 pm, and do you know the feeling when the sun slightly begins to set on a hot summer’s day? When the sun is not yet turning red, but the light creates a unique kind of feeling? I had exactely that feeling!
Walls, woodpiles, tools, other trucks, asphalt surfaces vegetation, they all seem to have made a huge leap forward to video realism and color faithfulness.
Yeeees, well, yeah, you do see holy Saint Framératus frown his face a little during dusk and dawn and in very dense scenery areas once you got a prehistoric computer like I do. But you may wanna cut short other improvements and traffic density (I run both Jazz packs) in order to make this one work.
Needless to say you should have color correction turned off. And when you have shadows turned on…. it’s a true blast.
Bottom line: You definitely want to check this one out, even with minor equipment, and you won’t be willing to be without it ever again.
I hereby officialy request to knight the author, who shares his brilliant work for free – don’t forget that!
My World of Trucks Gallery will soon reflect these changes. Those screenshots here, I am sorry to say, don’t really do justice to what I just experienced.

What is your World of Trucks account, so I can see your screenshots? Also, have you tried brutal environments mod, if so which is better?
My reply got stuck in premoderation, obviously because I gave you the direct link. So for the time being, the name is, surprise, surprise, Rhythmosaur (be sure to spell it right). You can enter that name into the search bar at WoT. Cheers!
The mod is quite interesting, watched the video on YouTube and it favored me much when Johannes Konig made a review.
Muchas gracias por las flores; calling my comment a review is more than it deserves!
Brutal enviroments mod works for me on 1.15, and now on 1.16 as well, I had to load it after all other mods for it to work though.
So I was misled by some commenters demanding to make it work on 1.15; I myself did not even try om the basis of those comments. But since yesterday, this discussion has become academic because there’s just a brand new release of Brutal Graphics out there, as you probably noticed. And I’m gonna give it a try right now.
Update: Now I am getting a little confused:
The Brutal Graphics Gold Mod appeared under Latest Files just yesterday, along with yesterday’s upload date. The comments however date back one month ago. Also, that nice Kenworth I downloaded yesterday appears with today’s upload date under Latest files and is definitely the same file I downloaded…. So if you were talking about the Gold edition all the time, that would explain why I was convinced (actually the predecessor of) this mod would not work under 1.15. Some strange things seem to go on here, and if I contributed to some confusion, I may be excused . 😉

Aaaand yet another update, finally dealing with your original question:
I am in the process of making a direct comparison between the three choices of Graphics Mods you have for Version 1.15. Because during testing, I found it increasingly difficult to make an objective statement, for a lot of personal taste is involved, and, as far as I see at this moment, these mods have quite different focuses and objectives. Yes, there are true plusses and minusses: Hantkel means the return of the pitchblack nights. Brutal gives you yellow midmarkers all the way, which where I live are only used for temporary markings in construction site areas to override the white markings, so you don’t have to remove them. ENV focusses more on weather and sky enhancement and is a sweet choice for night driving. So now I’m doing a trip from Valladolid to Pinsk in Russia in a standard Stralis Hiway, taking pictures in choice locations and situations using each mod and the standard game graphics, one at a time, and compile these to a little video. I plan to post the review in the SCS-Forum. This will take quite a while on a pre WW2 computer like mine; I also need to write some music for it. But I think, from the final result, everybody should be able to see the pro’s and con’s and take his/her own pick. Oh man, this is gonna be a long weekend… lol
So sit tight and enjoy your trips!
